The Martha Miller Center for Global Communication at Hope College was built with the help of a great number of generous donors, and giving these donors proper recognition was the primary charge of the Visual Entities design team for this project. In addition, the modern, elegant new building needed wayfinding and information signage that represented the collaborative and global-minded intent of the Center and provided a warm and welcoming feel for students who wanted to gather there.
To complement the rich wood and sophisticated interiors, Visual Entities used contemporary materials like etched glass and anodized metal with a reverse cut pattern for the donor recognition wall, the smaller room donor signs, the auditorium signage, and other general information pieces. A simple globe graphic was also used on each sign to signify the international, cultural awareness, and unity that the Martha Miller Center hopes to embody to all who work, learn, and share there.
