Mercy Hospital is Cadillac’s second largest employer and prides itself on the care and healing it gives to patients with many different kinds of needs. They came to Visual Entities to develop a wayfinding and signage system that could be useful and easy to read for these patients, but that would still be very modern, graphic, and properly reflect their brand.
The Visual Entities design team created a modular, functional sign system that incorporated a subtle watermark of the hospital’s logo (a cross enveloped in a flower) using a silver metallic screen that shimmers in the light and emits a warm, caring feel to patients and visitors alike. Lettering for the signs was made of laser cut, raised acrylic mounted to natural satin aluminum to ensure that all information would be clear and attention-getting. Digital prints were used for the map graphics and sign backgrounds so that they could be easily moved and maintained by the hospital.
