This photo portfolio is a small sampling of the many unique signs that have been designed, fabricated, decorated and installed by our talented team. This is a tool that will not only show you our capabilities but will inspire the potentials that can be applied to your project.

Each photo link will direct you down a different avenue of possibilities.

Our expert Sales Staff will work with you to analyze your unique designsignage needs and guide you through the development of a game plan for supplying a product that meets your expectations. After working closely with our creative Design Group, you will receive a design direction that would tastefully fit the aesthetics of the projects environment.

Following the selection of a design and acceptance of a budget, your assigned Project Manager will guide you through the steps of developing a fully complete system. In collaboration with our Sales Rep. the PM will formalize shop drawings, and create a copy list & location plan. Your involvement in the review, revision and approval process is crucial. This critical step establishes document controls for the production and installation phases of the project. At this time the project is scheduled for production, materials ordered and fabrication can begin. Production will move through the many stages of Fabrication, Decoration and final Assembly.

The Fabrication stage includes converting the raw materials into the basic sign chassis, frames, and sign blanks based on the predetermined and approved shop drawings. Our extensive shop has capabilities of CNC Routing, various cutting and shaping equipment, welding, and the handling of a wide variety of materials.

The Decorating stage applies multiple techniques such as, Painting, Vinyl Application, ADA Photopolymer plaques, Laser Engraving, Silk Screening, Laminating, and Digital Printing. These elements are added to the various sign components that are then prepared for final assembly.

Assembly is a time to check the quality and accuracy of the components against the original approved shop drawings. This final stage of production includes the verification of counts and copy as the final signs are assembled and marked with their unique location number. This numbering sequence is essential for an efficient and quality installation.

The use of the approved shop drawings, sign schedule, and location plans are important tools for our installers. These documents along with the installer’s extensive exposure to ADA requirements provide for a seamless conclusion to the project.

Meet the Team

Dawn Connor
Western Michigan Sales Representative

I rejoined Visual Entities to become the West Michigan Sales Rep after a brief hiatus of 22 years.  It is a pleasure working with the many talented, hardworking team members that share in my drive to provide the best possible service and product to our clients.  We have had the opportunity to create some pretty amazing donor pieces and history walls, along with many comprehensive wayfinding and room identification sign packages.

Outside of my busy work schedule, I enjoy cooking (should have been a chef), putting around the lake, spending time with my family and friends and tackling home renovation projects.  My husband and I are blessed with two wonderful adult children, Kelly and Quinn.

Donald Searfoss
Eastern Michigan Sales Representative

I recently moved to the Detroit area from Northeast Pennsylvania and signed on with Visual Entities to become their Sales Representative for east Michigan. Prior to the move, I was an Internet Manager for a Nissan Dealership, an account manager for Kraft Heinz, and an Administrative Assistant and laborer at a family owned monument shop. Through these positions, I have gained an appreciation for the importance of forming lasting relationships with clients and delivering the best possible service.

When I am not at work, I enjoy hiking, camping, soccer, tennis, and occasionally golf. I am single with no children and while I do not like pina coladas, I do like getting caught in the rain, the touch of the ocean, and the taste of champagne.

Judy Goodman
Project Manager

Since joining Visual Entities in 1998, I explored various roles with the company, to find my talents and my passion in project management.  I have enjoyed working with nationwide healthcare organizations, universities, large and small corporations, as well as entrepreneurs just starting out.

As a Project Manager, I support and direct our clients through the details, facilitating teamwork and finally bringing the job to a successful completion.  Listening to the customer’s needs and providing solutions are a critical part of the process of keeping projects on track.

When not at work I enjoy spending time with my amazing family & friends.  Walking in the woods or by the lake are some of my most relaxing times, but I am equally at ease in the middle of a little town with antique shops.  I enjoy cooking, seeing plays, reading a good book, savoring dark chocolate and sipping a good glass of cabernet.

Nancy Benson
Project Manager

When I joined Visual Entities my experience in sales, customer service, management, and organizational skills were challenged with a variety of new opportunities. I was excited to learn about an industry I had no prior knowledge! Through the years, I’ve acquired an entirely new outlook with respect to signage and continue to notice aspects of signs in ways I had not previously imagined. One of the many reasons I enjoy my position includes the trusted and long lasting relationships I’ve built and continue to build with our customers. I truly enjoy listening to their needs and providing solutions that exceed their expectations.

When I’m not at work, I love spending time with family and friends…faith, laughter, and love are priorities in my life! I actively participate with many ministries through my church. One of our outreach ministries very near and dear to my heart is our youth community mentor program, in which I am co-chair and an active mentor. I am also chair-person for our art and environment committee (flowers & décor). This ministry allows me to tap into my creativity and love of design and decorating by enhancing our worship space with color, fabrics, fresh flowers and plants.

Doug Myers
Project Manager

I truly have a passion for signs, and have been mostly employed in the sign and graphics industry since 1990.  During this time I have owned a sign business, have sold substrates and graphics materials to sign companies throughout West Michigan, and have provided at-risk students job skills training while running a screen printing and embroidery company for a local high school.  I love working in this industry, and being employed by Visual Entities.   Although I only recently began my journey as a project manager here in October 2016, I look forward to providing my customers up to date communication, and on-time management and installation of their projects!

Outside of work, I enjoy taking photographs, and going to car shows during the summer.  I also enjoy spending time with my wife Kim camping, traveling, kayaking and snowshoeing.  We have 2 grown children, a son living in China, and a married daughter that lives nearby us.

Ed Bezilla

Reflecting on the sign industry I’ve enjoyed for many years I realize how important Visual Entities role has been in successfully representing many business segments through our signage and graphic creations.

I am very pleased with what Visual Entities has accomplished since our beginning in 1989.  Seeing how the company continues on a path of prosperity without my direct involvement also gives me satisfaction.

It always has been about a team effort at Visual Entities, and the successful transition we’ve experienced proves that out.  Trusting with faith, at times, what has been unseen, and in the efforts of dedicated employees and partners frames where we are today.

Proverbs 16:3,9…..Commit your activities to the Lord and your plans will be achieved. A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps

Randy Hamstra
Vice President / General Manager

Before joining Visual Entities in 2008, I spent over 30 years in the graphic arts industry in multiple capacities. That in-depth experience gave me a sound understanding of production, sale, and management. Since then my exposure to signage has opened my eyes to the complexity and variability that this industry demands. Developing solutions for our customer’s wayfinding and signage needs can be very challenging. By applying my past experience, I work diligently to clearly communicate and simplify the tasks at hand. Through understanding current customer needs I work to lead our staff to creative and effective results.

My wife, Joan and I have enjoyed countless days sailing on Lake Michigan. Although our children have grown and moved away our love for West Michigan will never leave us. Our oldest daughter Katie and her family live in Honduras where she is a Teacher. Our other daughter Emily and her husband live in Seattle WA where she works as a Librarian. We are blessed with two wonderful grandchildren.

Jeff Sneider
Director of Operations

In my 20 years with Visual Entities I have really enjoyed helping the company grow. As the Director of Operations at Visual Entities I have found a professional home that challenges me everyday. I love working together as a team to come up with solutions for providing our clients the best possible product to fit their needs.

When I am not at work I am having fun playing with and coaching my 2 children Sam and Maggie. It is so much fun to watch them grow and be involved. In the summers my wife Heather and I enjoy taking the kids camping, and tubing on our boat.

Connie Timmer

I have been doing the accounting for Visual Entities since 1998 after a 20 year career in the finance and accounting field. While I am not in the office on a full-time basis, my VE coworkers feel like family to me. It has been a fun adventure watching the growth and changes that have taken place over the years.

I have been married to my husband Jack for 39 years, have two grown children, two wonderful grandchildren, and a “granddog”. When not working at VE, I enjoy bicycling, kayaking, yoga, reading, and cooking. My husband and I have also done extensive traveling around the US and Europe. I also do the books for a flooring company in the area as well as income tax for family and friends.

Larry Gerken

I have been blessed to be involved in this industry for the better part of 40 years. Joining the Visual Entities family is yet another amazing portion of that journey. The level of commitment to customers and to each other is astounding. Being here allows me to contribute some of my experience in production and management. My years of insight tell me this is a good place to invest one's trust.

When not at the office, my wife Clairanne and I enjoy perusing local re-purpose shops and planning our next crafting or home building project. We also cherish the time with our two sons, their beautiful wives and, of course, our incredibly perfect three grandchildren. It is no secret that I would always be happy to spend time on the golf course or the water.

Kristin Stellema
Office Assistant

I came to VE with an office support administration background in IT and Human Resources.  Since joining the talented VE team, I have learned so much about the world of signage and continue every day!  The opportunity to be a part of the process of providing our customers with quality service and products is greatly appreciated.

I have been blessed with two amazing, talented boys.  They are both in a band which I am a big supporter of!  When not rocking out to music, I also enjoy spending time with my animals, cooking, watching movies, boating & going to amusement parks.

Scott Tiedgen
Graphic Artist

At Visual Entities I enjoy working with people who care as much as I do about building relationships with our clients. As a designer, it is important to develop a solid understanding of our clients needs. Our most successful and dynamic projects have come from building a great relationship with our client, gaining a good understanding of their needs, then pushing the boundaries of form and function to meet those needs. This process is very rewarding and I am grateful to be a part of it.

My wife Kelly and I love spending time with our daughter Macey and our son Jackson. When the four of us are together, there is the promise of inspiration and a hope of adventure. Most of all I am thankful for a loving creator, to whom I owe all of these and many more wonderful blessings.

Luke Nevenzel
Graphic Artist

I graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design, with a degree in Graphic Design. Life lead me to Visual Entities in 2013, and has been a great challenging and learning experience ever since.

At home in Holland, I enjoy working on my small house, my dream is to design and build a new house some day. I love the beach, good food, music, movies and most importantly hanging out with friends and family.

Jerry Brubaker
Production Manager

I'm a sign geek, a forward thinker, a husband, a father and a grandfather. I'm a fan of graphic design, sign production and web development.

My interest of signs started in 1975. I have obtained and developed many skills pertaining to the sign trade from hand lettering to large format digital printing. I love it .. so many changes over the last 42 years.

I enjoy staying current with the lastest & greatest techniques. I've been researching the world of 3D printing .. wow .. unlimited potential there!

Outside of the ever changing sign industry .. I do have a life with my best friend and beautiful wife, Babette. We enjoy golfing and spending quality time with our kids, grandkids and our dogs, FlapJack and Snickers. :)

Megan Beltman
Router Operator / Production Facilitator

In the summer of 2007 is when my adventure at Visual Entities began. While working my way up from occasional shop help while attending Concordia University- Ann Arbor for Family Life Major/Youth Ministry Emphasis to becoming the Production Facilitator here in 2011. I'm jokingly called the "Sign Fairy" because while running the CNC Router, doing fabricating, assembling, and coordinating the workflow you will find signs/projects are completed "magically" by the next day unrelated to what I had been working on the day before.

When I'm not at work I'm tinkering with my trucks (a 1966 Ford F-100,and a 2014 Silverado), or riding/working with my 1952 John Deere B in parades, and steam and gas shows. While living in the country is an adventure and challenging at times; it keeps me occupied with shooting my bow, fishing, and farming, but mostly fabricating and building things that my friends and family find on Pinterest.

Dave Bremer

I am relatively new on the Visual Entities team. As their painter, I enjoy the challenges that I face in creating an excellent product. Visual Entities strives to produce the best quality product possible for every application, and as a team I believe we accomplish that.

Outside of work, I enjoy hunting and fishing and spending quality time with my friends and family. I love to be outdoors, and hot or cold, I have a hobby for every season.

Ed Kurlowicz
Vinyl Cutter

After 36 years as a production artist, I came to Visual Entities in 2016. My experience includes silkscreen printing, producing digital graphics, placing Braille, operating sign-making machinery and hand-cutting/applying vinyl graphics. I enjoy working with our team of professionals to accomplish artistry and perfection on every job we do.

Art is just as important to me after work. I do pencil illustrations, prints and intricate shadow boxes. My other love is music —I’ve played guitar since middle school. Currently, I play bass with local band, Cabildo. I moved here from South Bend, Indiana to marry my wife, Stelle. We enjoy music, dancing, cooking, the great outdoors, time with family and creating a harmonious home.
